Ayneh Pendant
Ayneh Pendant
The Ayneh pendant draws its meaning from the mirror placed on the Haft Seen table at Nowruz. The mirror is said to reflect the sky, to hold light, and to show us ourselves as we enter the new year. It is both the most ordinary and the most profound of objects: the thing that shows us what we really are.
I wanted to make a pendant that carries that reflective quality not just as metaphor, but as material fact. Hold this piece in the light and it gives light back. It becomes its own mirror.
Hand-modelled in 18ct yellow gold and brought to a deep mirror polish, the pendant references the traditional Persian hand mirror in abstract form. The back is satin-finished for contrast. Hung on an 18ct yellow gold trace chain. Birmingham hallmarked.
Chain length adjustable on request. Lead time 4-6 weeks, made to order.
Bespoke adjustments available. Contact us to discuss.
