Sabzeh Pendant
Sabzeh Pendant
The Sabzeh pendant takes its name and form from the sprouting wheatgrass grown for Nowruz, the Persian New Year. Sabzeh is one of the seven sacred items on the Haft Seen table: seeds planted weeks in advance, nurtured in the dark, and brought to life just in time for the spring equinox.
I have always found the sabzeh deeply moving. It is a small act of faith: you plant seeds, you tend them, and you trust that green will come. This pendant is my attempt to hold that moment of emergence in gold, the instant the blade of grass breaks the surface and reaches for light.
Hand-modelled in 18ct yellow gold, the pendant captures the organic curl and energy of new growth. The surface is textured to suggest individual blades of grass, with a high-polish stem. Hung on an 18ct yellow gold trace chain. Birmingham hallmarked.
Chain length adjustable on request. Lead time 4-6 weeks, made to order.
