Welcome to Silux London. These terms and conditions govern your use of our website and the purchase of jewellery from our collections. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms.

2. Definitions

In these terms and conditions:

  • 'I', 'me', 'my' refers to Hamed Arab Choobdar, founder of Silux London
  • 'You', 'your' refers to the customer placing an order
  • 'Goods' refers to the jewellery and related items you purchase
  • 'Order' refers to your request to purchase goods from Silux London
  • 'Made-to-order' refers to items crafted specifically for your order
  • 'Bespoke' refers to custom-designed pieces created to your specifications

3. Placing an Order

All orders placed through the Silux London website constitute an offer to purchase goods. I reserve the right to accept or decline any order at my discretion.

Upon placing an order, you will receive an email acknowledging receipt. This acknowledgement does not constitute acceptance of your order. A contract between us is formed only when I send you an order confirmation email.

Please ensure all information provided during checkout is accurate. I cannot be held responsible for delays or non-delivery resulting from incorrect address details.

5. Pricing and Payment

All prices displayed on the website are in British Pounds Sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable.

I reserve the right to change prices at any time, although changes will not affect orders already confirmed.

Payment Terms:

  • Ready-to-ship items: Full payment required at checkout
  • Made-to-order items: Full payment required at checkout, prior to commencement of crafting
  • Bespoke commissions: 50% deposit required to begin work; remaining 50% due before dispatch

Payment methods accepted include major credit and debit cards, and other methods as displayed at checkout.

6. Delivery

Lead Times:

  • Gateway Collection: 6 to 8 weeks
  • Signature Collection: 8 to 10 weeks
  • Prestige Collection: 10 to 12 weeks
  • Bespoke Commissions: 12 to 16 weeks (confirmed during consultation)

These timeframes are estimates. I will keep you informed of your order's progress and notify you promptly of any delays.

Shipping:

  • UK delivery: Complimentary fully insured Royal Mail Special Delivery
  • International delivery: Insured courier service; charges calculated at checkout

All items are shipped in signature Silux London packaging, suitable for gifting.

7. Returns and Refunds

Ready-to-Ship Items:

You may return unworn items in their original condition within 14 days of receipt for a full refund. Items must be returned in their original packaging with all certificates and documentation.

Made-to-Order Items:

As each piece is crafted specifically for your order, made-to-order items cannot be returned unless faulty. This is in accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, which exempt bespoke and personalised goods from the standard 14-day return period.

Bespoke Commissions:

Bespoke items are entirely custom-made to your specifications. The 50% deposit is non-refundable once design work has commenced. Completed bespoke pieces cannot be returned unless faulty.

Faulty Items:

If you believe an item is faulty, please contact me within 7 days of receipt. I will arrange collection, inspection, and either repair, replacement, or refund as appropriate.

9. Materials and Quality

All Silux London jewellery is crafted using carefully selected materials:

Precious Metals:

  • Sterling silver (.925)
  • 9ct gold (375)
  • 18ct gold (750) in yellow, rose, or white
  • 22ct gold (916) for selected traditional pieces

All precious metal items are hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office in accordance with UK law.

Gemstones:

  • Persian Turquoise: Sourced from Neyshabur, Iran; graded B (Gateway), A (Signature), or AAA (Prestige)
  • Diamonds: Minimum G colour, VS clarity (Gateway); E-F colour, VVS-VS clarity (Signature and Prestige)
  • Heritage Gemstones: Lapis lazuli, carnelian, and other stones sourced with documented provenance

Certificates of authenticity accompany all Signature and Prestige pieces, detailing materials and provenance.

10. Care and Warranty

Lifetime Care:

I offer complimentary cleaning and inspection for all Silux London pieces. Simply contact me to arrange your annual service.

Warranty:

All jewellery is warranted against manufacturing defects for two years from the date of purchase. This warranty covers:

  • Structural integrity of metalwork
  • Security of stone settings
  • Functionality of clasps and mechanisms

The warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage from impact, chemicals, or improper storage
  • Alterations or repairs performed by third parties
  • Loss of stones due to customer neglect

Resizing:

One complimentary ring resize is included within the first year of purchase. Subsequent resizing is available for a nominal fee.

12. Intellectual Property

All designs, photographs, text, and other content on the Silux London website are my intellectual property or are used under licence. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content without my written permission.

Silux London designs are original works protected by copyright and design rights. Copying or imitating these designs is prohibited.

13. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to me. I collect and process personal data in accordance with UK data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

14. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes my liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be legally limited or excluded.

Subject to the above, my total liability to you in connection with any order shall not exceed the price paid for the goods in question.

I am not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special losses arising from your purchase.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your purchase shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

However, I always prefer to resolve matters amicably. If you have any concerns, please contact me directly, and I will do my utmost to find a satisfactory resolution.

16. Changes to These Terms

I may update these terms and conditions from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your order will apply to that purchase. I encourage you to review these terms periodically.
