Material Ethics

Every material tells a story. From the legendary turquoise mines of Neyshabur to Birmingham historic Jewellery Quarter, I trace each element journey with transparency and cultural integrity.

Our Philosophy

I believe that beautiful jewellery begins with beautiful ethics. Every stone I select, every gram of gold I shape, carries a story of its origin. My commitment is to trace that story with honesty and share it with you.

This transparency is not a marketing strategy; it is a personal principle rooted in my Persian heritage, where the integrity of materials and craftsmanship has been valued for five thousand years.

Persian Turquoise

Persian Turquoise

The turquoise of Neyshabur has adorned Persian royalty for five millennia. I travel to these legendary mines personally, selecting each stone for its colour, clarity, and character.

This is not simply sourcing; it is continuing a tradition that predates recorded history. Each piece of Silux London Persian turquoise carries a certificate documenting its origin in the mines that have supplied the world finest turquoise since 3000 BCE.

Grading Standards:

Grade B (Gateway): Light blue with visible matrix
Grade A (Signature): Sky blue with minimal matrix
Grade AAA (Prestige): Perfect robin egg blue, matrix-free

Diamond Standards

I set diamond quality standards above industry norms. When competitors use G/SI stones, I specify E-F colour and VVS-VS clarity. The difference is visible, and it matters.

  • Gateway Collection: G colour, VS clarity minimum
  • Signature and Prestige Collections: E-F colour, VVS-VS clarity
  • Cut grade: Excellent or Very Good only
  • Certification: GIA or IGI for all stones 0.30ct and above
  • Options: Natural diamonds (standard) or lab-grown (clearly disclosed, with 20-30% cost reduction)

Precious Metals

Every precious metal piece is crafted in Birmingham historic Jewellery Quarter and hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office. This hallmark is your guarantee of metal purity and British craftsmanship standards.

Metal Options:

Sterling Silver (.925)
9ct Gold (37.5% gold content)
18ct Gold (75% gold content) in Yellow, Rose, or White
22ct Gold (91.6% gold content, limited pieces, traditional Persian specification)

The hallmark tells a story of its own: 250 years of British goldsmithing excellence meeting five thousand years of Persian artistic tradition.

Our Commitments

Personal Sourcing

I travel to Iran to select each Persian turquoise personally, building relationships with miners and artisans who have worked these ancient deposits for generations.

Full Certification

Every diamond over 0.30ct is GIA or IGI certified. Every precious metal piece is UK hallmarked. Every turquoise carries provenance documentation.

Made to Order

Each piece is crafted to order in Birmingham Jewellery Quarter. This eliminates waste, ensures exclusivity, and allows for personalisation.

Artisan Partnerships

My collaborations with Isfahan enamel masters and Birmingham craftspeople ensure fair compensation and the preservation of traditional techniques.

Heritage Gemstones

Beyond turquoise, I work with gemstones that have been treasured along the Silk Road for millennia:

Lapis Lazuli: Sourced from Afghanistan, the same deposits that supplied the ultramarine pigment for Persian miniature paintings. I select stones with deep blue colour and minimal pyrite for Prestige pieces.

Carnelian: The warm orange-red stone prized in Persian seal rings for thousands of years. Each piece connects to the ancient tradition of the Persian mohr (seal).

Persian Gulf Pearls: When available, these rare pearls from the waters that have sustained Persian pearl diving for millennia. Their scarcity makes them precious; their provenance makes them extraordinary.

I believe that transparency in sourcing is not a burden but a privilege. When you know the journey each material has taken to reach your hands, that knowledge becomes part of what you wear.

Sustainability Through Craft

My made-to-order model is inherently sustainable. By creating each piece only when commissioned, I eliminate the waste of unsold inventory. There are no overproduction runs, no discounted clearance sales, no pieces consigned to oblivion.

This approach requires patience from my customers, typically eight to twelve weeks from commission to completion. In return, you receive a piece that was created specifically for you, by craftspeople who had the time to do their finest work.

The materials themselves are chosen for longevity. Persian turquoise has been treasured for five thousand years because it endures. 18ct gold does not tarnish. These are not pieces that will be discarded next season; they are heirlooms in formation.

Certifications and Standards

Every Silux London piece meets or exceeds these standards.
