Gordafarid is one of the Shahnameh's most extraordinary figures: a warrior woman who disguised herself as a male soldier to challenge Sohrab in single combat. When her helmet was knocked off and her identity revealed, she escaped back to her fortress - leaving her opponent in stunned admiration.

I designed this pendant to honour her. She stands in 18ct rose gold, bow fully drawn, every detail of her armour engraved with geometric Persian patterns. Rose-cut diamonds trace the arc of her bow and her armour sash, and a ruby sits at her heart.

Rose gold felt right for Gordafarid - softer in appearance, fierce in form.
