The Tahvil ring is named for the exact moment the Persian new year begins: tahvil-e sal, the instant of the spring equinox, when the sun crosses the celestial equator and winter ends. In Iran, families gather around the Haft Seen table in the seconds before tahvil, waiting together for the precise moment of turning. It is one of the most charged moments in the Persian calendar.

I designed this ring to carry that weight: a statement piece for a significant moment. Not an everyday ring. A ring you put on when something has changed, or when you want to mark that something has.

Cast in solid 18ct yellow gold, the ring is a broad, sculptural band with a domed profile that catches light across its full width. The surface moves between areas of high polish and fine-grained texture, referencing the contrast between the long Persian winter and the sudden clarity of spring. Birmingham hallmarked.
