Golestan Chahar Bagh Solitaire
The Chahar Bagh (چهارباغ) is the Persian paradise garden: four quadrants divided by waterways, each a mirror of divine symmetry. This engagement ring translates that ancient geometry into gold.
Crafted in 18ct yellow gold, the Golestan Chahar Bagh Solitaire features a 5.5mm oval natural emerald in a low bezel setting, held within four split tapered prongs aligned to the cardinal points of the garden plan. At each prong split, a single brilliant-cut diamond represents the water source at the garden's crossing. The split shank echoes the four paths of the Chahar Bagh, meeting beneath the stone in a closed gallery engraved with the garden grid.
In Persian tradition, the paradise garden was both earthly beauty and a reflection of heaven. An emerald at its heart recalls the lush vegetation Saadi described in the Golestan: the garden in bloom, the beloved in its shade.
Made to order in Birmingham's historic Jewellery Quarter. Each piece is hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and cultural story card. Lead time: 8-10 weeks. To begin your commission, contact us directly.
